Piano Guys, David Archuleta, Peter Hollens, and Every Mormon Actor Ever Sing “Angels We Have Heard on High”

Piano Guys, David Archuleta, Peter Hollens, and everyone in Provo make a pretty rad Christmas video. If you don't feel joy from this, you are heartless

Alright, so we took some flack a few weeks ago for mocking Provo, Utah’s little quest to break the Guinness World Record for Largest Ever Nativity. Our humor came mostly from the fact that a few thousand white folks dressed in white robes roaming the hills of north Provo looked, well, let’s just say, like something that might have been more common in a different part of the United States circa 1934.

Anywho, let’s put that to rest, because The Piano Guys, David Archuleta, Peter Hollens, lots of other Mormon faces, and a bevy of extras all came together to produce a rousing rendition of “Angels, from the Realms of Glory.” (Let’s be clear, even though the video itself says it’s “Angels We Have Heard on High,” the rendition here is the former, and it follows a popular Mormon Tabernacle Choir arrangement. Also, MoTab gets barely any credit for this video.)

The final product is stirring. I redact mockery of Provo’s odd world record push considering this is one of the byproducts. I nearly cried.

This, coupled with “He Is the Gift,” has resulted in some great multimedia efforts from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints this year. The “Because of Him” Easter effort garnered serious praise and over 4.4 million YouTube views. “He Is the Gift” currently sits at just over 3 million, so get to work on that sharing, people!

As for other “names” in the video, Alex Boyé is pretty obvious. We also spotted Jeremy Hoop. Anyone else we missed? Rick Macy appeared to be absent, which is a shame, because Rick Macy.

Also, going bowling with Steven Sharp Nelson seems like it would be awesome.
