In a letter to leaders dated August 27th , the Church announced its youth theme for the year 2021. This next year’s theme will be “A Great Work” and will be focused on Doctrine and Covenants 64:33-34

“Wherefore, be not weary in well-doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is great. Behold, the Lord requireth the heart and a willing mind.”

According to the Church Newsroom, the theme was chosen in response to President Russell M. Nelson’s invitation to enlist in the youth battalion. The theme also coordinates with the 2021 Seminary and Come, Follow Me curriculum.

The letter encourages parents and  leaders to refer to this theme as they teach throughout the year.

As with the themes of years past, the Church will provide resources in the form of videos, art, and music. The music from each year’s theme is  available on the Gospel Library app for streaming. Or if downloading is more your style, they can be downloaded from the church’s website.

Since 2013, the Church has produced around 11 songs coinciding with the year’s theme. Previous youth theme songs feature Conlon Bonner, J. Warren, Madilyn Paige, Ari and Seli Miller of Elenyi, and David Archuleta.
