What do you get when you cross quarantine, road trips, and the creative juices of Mallory Everton and Whitney Call? Answer, a new comedy called Stop and Go. The film previously debuted as Recovery at the South by Southwest Film Festival, was co-written by the Studio C alums Call and Everton, and co-directed by Everton and fellow Studio C alum Stephen Meek. Jeremy Warner, another Studio C alum can also be seen in the trailer as a masked man eating a cheeseburger? You have to watch the trailer to see.
And here’s the poster!
The trailer looks to be full of the synergistic comedy that is common among the former Studio C cast.
The movie follows two directionless sisters who brave a cross-country road trip to rescue their grandmother from a COVID outbreak at her nursing home. Staring along side Everton and Call are Julia Jolley and Anne Sward Hansen. The film has earned an 86% on Rotten Tomatoes. Though information about distribution of the movie is limited at this time, all signs point toward a release in theatres and digital streaming platforms on October 1st.
